If the test automation framework has too much complexity then you should
be explicit in the document. At some point in the future we can see if
the complexity you see can be remedied.

Hi Johathan,

=20

Some quick comments.

=20

Page 4, can you use the standard TOC and paragraph headers so we have
page numbers and section numbers here?

**Will do.=20

=20

Page 6, herin --> herein

**Good catch :-)

=20

Page 10, Do you mean that there will be a new builtin account like admin
and root? That is not desirable given that it means yet another
potential account for all customers to manage; even if we don't want
them to use it it will still be there and have a password that all
partners know.

**Okay, we'll look at our options to avoid this.

=20

Page 10. "A large portion of tests will be performed by the partner." I
thought that they would be doing 100% of the tests in this proposal.

**Correct, we'll change the wording to reflect that.

=20

Page 10, Are you planning on using the current Test Automation
Framework? I hope so since if it has inadequacies we need to work that
out for our own needs.

**We discussed this in a staff meeting. The consensus was that our Test
Automation Framework would be too difficult to package and make portable
for our partners. If you'd like us to revisit this we can. We are
trying to get something put together quickly because we have an
aggressive Self Qual queue and some extra cycles from the HCL team.

=20

Page 11, If the logs are on the management volume and the tests are
forcing failures, how do you know that the volume will be
writable/readable during the failure unless it's on another
array/switch/whatever you are testing?

***Yet another good point. We'll look at another implementation for log
collection/archiving.

=20

Page 12, bullet 6 looks to be missing text

**Noted thanks.

=20

Page 14, step 17, this is a special case for logging given that you
don't have a management volume yet.

**Yes, we'll consider this. If we fail before we get to the point of
configuration of Management Vol it will either be user error on config
or it will be a stop test issue that requires demarcation. We'll
discuss the use of terminal logging and other log collection methods for
cases that can't be saved to Management Vol.

=20

Your points about the logs are things we need to work out and we will.=20

=20

Thanks a lot for the great input.

=20

Greetings,

=20

Attached is a copy of the SQT for Partners document for review. The aim
is to create a tool that will enable ONStor to allow partners to qualify
hardware devices on there own. Once test is done. ONStor can review a
set of logs to determine if the Unit Under Test is behaving in a
satisfactory manner.

=20

Please review and provide feedback,

Thank You,

Dave
